<em>Die Zauberflöte</em> at the Lyric Opera of Chicago

This month, the Lyric Opera of Chicago opens its new production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, utilizing the critical performing materials from the acclaimed Neue Mozart-Ausgabe, published by Bärenreiter. The Lyric Opera of Chicago's production, which runs December 10 to January 27, is directed by Neil Armfield and conducted by Rory Macdonald, with stage design by Dale Ferguson.

Based on Mozart’s autograph manuscripts as well as all available source material, the Complete Neue Mozart-Ausgabe is universally regarded as an indispensable resource for authentic performance and study of Mozart’s works. Edited by the International Mozarteum Foundation, each edition includes complete critical performance materials as well as sketches, drafts and fragments of each work. Each volume also contains a detailed preface and facsimile reproductions from the source material, in addition to a separately published critical report.
