Huang Ruo Portrait Concert at National Sawdust Includes the New York Premiere of A Dust in Time

On February 18, National Sawdust presented a Huang Ruo portrait concert featuring the New York premiere of A Dust in Time as well as Song of Everlasting Regret performed by mezzo-soprano Kelly Clarke and pianist Joanne Kang.

A Dust In Time traces a meditative journey inspired by Tibetan Buddhist sand mandalas. The one-hour palindromic passacaglia grows towards ecstasy from silence before returning to its source.

Looking ahead, Chang Chih-yuan will lead the National Taichung Theater Orchestra in a performance of Huang Ruo's symphonic fanfare, The Grand Song as well as his interactive and engaging City of Floating Sounds on March 28 at the Taichung National Theater.
