Musicians of the Sinfonieorchester Basel Perform Stefan Plank's Magical Der kleine Prinz

This weekend, Musicians of the Sinfonieorchester Basel, led by Timo Waldmeier, perform Stefan Plank's tone poem, Der kleine Prinz (The Little Prince), based on the beloved eponymous children's book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry at the Probezentrum Picassoplatz in Basel. The performance is part of the ensemble's "maxi.musik" series whose concerts are aimed at youth ages 7-12. These "lovingly designed productions, children are invited to immerse themselves in the world of classical music."

Der kleine Prinz, narrated in these performances by Sibylle Mumenthaler, takes listeners of all ages into the magical world of the little prince, who travels from planet to planet and meets various characters. Through these encounters, he learns a lot about friendship and love – in other words, what is really important in life.
