Music by Akiko Yamane, Toshi Ichiyanagi, and Atsuhiko Gondai at the Suntory Hall Summer Music Festival

The Suntory Hall Summer Festival 2020 features music by three Schott composers, including two world premieres. Atsuhiko Gondai'sCosmic Sex (2008) for six players will be performed on August 22 by Ayako Takagi, flute, Yoshiko Kanada, percussion, Kazuko Shinozaki, harp, Aki Kuroda, piano, Kazuhito Yamane, piano, and Michiaki Ueno, cello, led by conductor Yoichi Sugiyama. On August 23, Akiko Yamane's Dots Collection No. 4 for chamber orchestra and Toshi Ichiyanagi's Concertino - Time Revival for string orchestra and two percussionists will be performed by the Tokyo Sinfonietta, under the baton of Yasuaki Itakura, with percussionists Toshiyuki Matsukura and Mitsuyo Wada. Yoichi Sugiyama conducts the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in the world premiere of Akiko Yamane's Arcade (a Suntory Hall commission), while Masato Suzuki leads the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in the world premiere of Toshi Ichiyanagi's Symphony No. 11 on August 30.
