Luigi Nono’s <em>Intolleranza</em> at Carnegie Hall with the American Symphony Orchestra

On March 1, the American Symphony Orchestra, led by Leon Botstein, will present Luigi Nono’s powerful one-act opera Intolleranza with a talented cast of singers including tenor Daniel Weeks, soprano Serena Benedetti, mezzo-soprano Hai-Ting Chinn, baritone Matthew Worth, and bass-baritone Carsten Wittmoser. The Bard Festival Chorale, led by Thomas Bagwell, assists.

Composed in 1960, Intolleranza was written as a response to the effects of fascism and dictatorship and an expression of hope for a world without war.
