La Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (SGAE) Awards a 125th Anniversary Medal to Joaquín Rodrigo

On June 17 at Florida Park Hall in Madrid, La Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (SGAE) awarded their 125th Anniversary Medals to a number of esteemed contributors to various aspects of the Arts, including directors, screenwriters, musicians, and others. Cecilia Rodrigo, daughter of Joaquín Rodrigo (1901-1999) and Director of Ediciones Joaquín Rodrigo, accepted a posthumous award on her father's behalf, who thanked SGAE for its dedication to supporting the artistic career of her father who became a member of the entity "a century and a year ago."

On July 3, Cecilia Rodrigo will present a lecture-recital titled, “The Piano of Joaquín Rodrigo in the 25th Anniversary of his Death” alongside Spanish pianist, Ana Benavides, at the National Library of Spain in Madrid. Notably, this event will take place only three days before the 25th anniversary of Joaquín Rodrigo's death.
Additionally, on July 13, Norichika Iimori and the Izumi Sinfonietta Osaka will perfom the Japanese premeire of Rodrigo's Música para un jardín at Izumi Hall in Osaka.
