Kurt Weill's <em>The Seven Deadly Sins</em> with Virginia Opera and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra

Virginia Opera continues its season opening run of Kurt Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins this month, with performances in Norfolk, Fairfax, and Richmond, VA (October 1-16). Principle Conductor Adam Turner leads the orchestra in the production directed by Keturah Stickann and starring Ute Gfrerer as Anna I and Gabrielle Zucker as Anna II.

Other notable Weill performances this month include The Seven Deadly Sins by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra with Ivan Volkov conducting and Measha Bruggergosman as Anna I (October 20), Ópera de Cámara del Teatro Colón performs Mahagonny Songspiel, directed by Marcelo Lombardero, at the Festival International Cervantina in Guanajuato, Mexico (October 20), and Symphony NOVA performs Weill’s rarely heard Symphony No. 1 in Boston (October 21).

The National Theatre’s acclaimed new adaptation of The Threepenny Opera may have closed earlier this month, but National Theatre Live’s cinema screenings continue throughout October at movie theaters around the world. To find a showing at a theater near you, visit nationaltheatre.org.
