Mar. 01, 2006
On February 23 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Leonard Slatkin gave the world premiere of Joseph Schwantner's Morning's Embrace, a work of the orchestra's commissioning. The Washington Post commented that, typical of Schwantner's inventive and arresting colorative skills, the work's sound proved "unique and original."
