Jennifer Koh and Vijay Iyer Premiere Iyer's Scenes of Living and Dying: Part II in Philadelphia

Jennifer Koh and Vijay Iyer opened the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society's 2026-27 season on October 16. For his PCMS debut, Iyer joined Koh to give the world premiere of his Scenes of Living and Dying: Part II. This collection of works - a PCMS co-commission - is intended to hold space to channel our private and public griefs. Koh complemented Iyer’s original compositions, including Scenes of Living and Dying: Part I which Iyer and Koh premiered with visual artist Carrie Mae Weems in 2024, and works for solo piano, with a selection of solo violin pieces by J.S. Bach.
