Henri Dutilleux's Correspondances at The Montreal Symphony Orchestra with Kent Nagano
Mar. 01, 2011
On March 27, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra performs Henri Dutilleux’s Correspondances at the Place des Arts featuring soprano June Anderson, under the baton of Kent Nagano. Completed in 2004 for the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Correspondances sets texts by Mukherjee, Solzhenitsyn, Rilke and van Gogh in a song cycle exploring spirituality and the universe. This performance marks the second time the work has been performed in Canada, after its 2005 Canadian premiere by Barbara Hannigan and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Henri Dutilleux will be one of the Seattle Symphony's featured composers for the 2011/12 season and the orchestra's celebration of the master composer continues next month when Ludovic Morlot leads a performance with cellist Xavier Phillips in Dutilleux’s cello concerto Tout un monde lointain. Check back for more details on upcoming performances and events planned at the Seattle Symphony.
