Giancarlo Guerrero Leads Curtis Chamber Orchestra and Soovin Kim in Kurt Weill's Concerto for Violin and Wind Instruments, op. 12
Mar. 30, 2010
The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society welcomes the Curtis Chamber Orchestra and Giancarlo Guerrero to the Kimmel Center for a highly anticipated performance of Kurt Weill's Concerto for Violin and Wind Instruments on Wednesday, April 21. Violinist Soovin Kim joins the ensemble on stage as featured guest soloist.
Across the Atlantic, Weill's beloved music-theatre work Street Scene has recently completed a successful run at Opéra Toulon Provence Méditerranée in Toulon, France. A work that masterfully integrates operatic arias and ensembles with show tunes, dance numbers, jazz and blues, Street Scene's libretto was penned by Langston Hughes, and it continues to be one of Weill's most popular and enduring works of music-theatre. It is available worldwide from European American Music.
