Works by Frank Zappa Down Under

On August 15, 2012, the West Australian Symphony performs the Australian premieres of Frank Zappa's The Perfect Stranger and G-Spot Tornado­, two works by the iconic American composer which have been enjoying numerous repeat performances in recent years worldwide. This concert marks the first event in the West Australian Symphony's inaugural new music festival, and is conducted by Paul Daniel.

Closer to home, on July 13 the Concord Chamber Ensemble performs Zappa’s TheAdventures of Greggery Peccary, with Ray Bauwens, voice, and Greg Amidon, narrator, as well as Zappa’s ebullient Peaches en Regalia. The program also includes Edgard Varese’s Ionisation, for 13 percussionists, and his Density 21.5.
