Matthias Pintcher's Uriel with Alisa Weilerstein and Inon Barnatan
Jan. 09, 2013

Matthias Pintscher’s duo for cello and piano, Uriel, sees its world premiere this month in a recital by Alisa Weilerstein and Inon Barnatan at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt. The performance takes place January 21 and is part of the epic “Romantic Impulse” series that began in 2012 and runs through March 2014. The series features Pintscher as artistic director and curator and is made possible by the Cultural Fund Frankfurt RheinMain. Dedicated to Alisa Weilerstein, Uriel was commissioned by the Alte Oper with generous support from the Friends of the Alte Oper Frankfurt.
The program pairs Uriel with beloved works for cello and piano by Franz Schubert, Samuel Barber, and Sergei Rachmaninov.
