Huw Watkins’ Piano Quartet Premieres at the Spitalfields Music Festival

On June 19 the Schubert Ensemble of London performs the world premiere of Huw Watkins’ Piano Quartet at the 2012 Spitalfields Music Festival, commissioned by the ensemble with support from the Spitalfields Music Festival’s New Music Commission Fund. The performance takes place in the Shoreditch Church, with a pre-concert conversation between Huw Watkins and Judith Weir. Watkins’ new Piano Quartet is presented in a program alongside piano quartets from Bohuslav Martinů and Antonin Dvořák.
